Reflection
Take time out for reflection. Examine your experiences and learn what there is to learn.
The very act carries with it the notion of slowing things down, as if you had all the time in the world. Mostly we are so busy pushing things forward we don’t take stock of where we are. We don’t take time to reckon our location, or to acknowledge our progress. Reflection is a way to counterbalance the accelerated pace of change. Reflection grounds you in the certainty of the moment.
How do you reflect?
Take a deep breath. Stop time for a moment.
Reflect on the business you’re creating and the life you’re living. What have you accomplished? View this with your inner eye.
What have you learned? Whom have you met? What have you seen? How has it changed you? Who are you being as you expand your venture’s horizons?
Who are you – right now?
Make time on a regular basis for reflection. Set aside an hour or two a week for the purpose of reflecting. You might later expand to 1/2 hour a day. Just think things through.
Or start a journal and make notes about what has happened – not as a work of literature, but as a simple record. A way to mark the path you are on and detail some of the sights.
Another approach is to spend some time each evening just remembering what has transpired. Begin at the end, right where you are, and work your way backward to when your day started.
Choose an approach that gives you the greatest insight, then use it.
See yourself in your reflection.
