Leadership - All Things Flow From The Source

You have taken the role of the leader. It is in your nature to exhibit leadership among your peers and colleagues and to show them “the way.”

Face it. You are the source of your project, your venture, your enterprise. Whatever it is, it comes from you. That’s the nature of leadership.

This is true whether or not you conceived the idea. It is true whether or not someone higher up the chain asked you (or ordered you) to do it. It is true whether or not you wanted to be the leader.

Once you’ve assumed the mantle of leadership, you are the source.

How do you “be” the source?

By saying it. “I am the source.” By thinking it. By standing as the source – which means looking at things from that perspective. How would your business look to you, what would you see, think, feel – and do – if you were standing at the source of things.

Make that perspective your perspective.

OK – take that on. Stand there, at the head of your venture, just like standing at the head of a river. Stand at the source and “be” the source. Have the whole thing flow from you. Whatever happens along the way, it will, at a very fundamental level, come from you.

Can you do that?

This is not about your ego. This is not “Look at me, I’m the source. This thing comes from me.” This is a commitment thing. Willingness to be the source is the nature of responsibility. You are the source and cause of whatever actions are being taken and whatever results are being produced.

You have accepted the position of leadership and you must become the leader.

As a leader, you are responsible. You are the source.
